In essence, a change is moving from a present state to a future state, through people changing behaviour.
People are tribal. We like to belong. Not to stand out (too much). In change, we like to move with other people. Those around us that we respect or socialize with.
When I was a Care Bear in Maersk we achieved great results by connecting people around the world who were facing similar issues – we assisted them in jointly developing solutions, and the good ones we then made global.
It was co-creation and best practice sharing that went beyond the buzzwords. It worked.
By having a structure for how to do it. By having built the trust needed between headquarters and country organizations. By having visionary leadership. By caring.
By connecting people.
How have you used the power of connecting people?
